Selected Artwork

Here's an example of an aquatint etching I completed in 2013 which went on to win the Nicholson & Bass Printmaking Award at the Royal Ulster Academy. 'Kent Street' uses hard-ground, soft-ground, spit-bite and aquatint intaglio techniques on copper plate and took approx. one month to create. Drawing on copper using a needle and painting on a rosin-coated plate using ferric chloride creates a rich, textured image ranging from subtle gradients to rich, deep blacks. The etching was printed using Hawthorn Extra Dense Black ink onto 310 g/sm Somerset Satin paper.
